Why can my car's handfree device not download my phonebook from my g6 plus

[Android Central Question]

In the G6 plus contacts are saved on an account ( my Gmail in my case). My both cars use Sync 2 and Sync 3 from Ford. To be able to download my phonebook tot my car all these contacts need to be saved on the G6 plus internal memory. This is impossible unless you do not add any account. Then contacts are saved on the internal memory. But even then my sync 2 of sync 3 can not download my contacts. Any solutions for this problem ?

Welcome to Android Central! Does the Sync system or its manual actually tell you that the contacts have to be saved locally to the phone in order to download to the Sync system?

On the phone, go to Settings>Bluetooth, tap the gear icon next to the car stereo, and make sure Contact Sharing is turned on.
