I have a Samsung from tmobile. I have it set to always ask before installing updates. I would rather have tbe option to never check fir updates at all. I am getting a prompt to install the latest one, which I do not want. It says it has downloaded the update and asks if I want to install now or later. I dont want to install it at all. I want to delete the file and block the phone from downloading without permission.

Welcome to Android Central! Most phones will ultimately force you to install a system update (which makes sense, since the manufacturer will want to make sure you have the latest security patches and system improvements). In order to block all system updates, you'd have to root the phone and disable the system updater app. There are probably a bunch of threads about that here or in the forums at XDA-Developers.com.
