Android Central Question

I was installing an update and accidentally clicked the power and volume buttons. It went into AP Flashboot Flash mode. I have tried every combination of power and volume buttons and menus, but the only thing that shows up is a black screen that says N/A in the corner whenever I try anything. I want to get back to my home screen without resetting my phone. How do I do this?

Hold the power button until the phone restarts (it should take less than 30 seconds). Or, if you have a PC (or laptop) with fastboot (and adb) installed, connect the phone to the PC, type

fastboot devices

just to make sure that the PC sees the phone, then type

fastboot reboot

The phone should boot normally.

If, in either case, it reboots back to fastboot mode, contact your carrier (or Motorola if you bought it directly) and let them know that during an update, the phone went into fastboot. (Don't mention that you pressed power and volume.) And ask if they can arrange for the phone to be reflashed without wiping. (It's still possible that your apps and data are intact, and the only difference to them is to delete 1 line from the xml file before flashing.)
