Why are my headphones making a loud static noise on my s6 active?

My headphones had always worked in the past with my s6 active untill this weekend. When i plug them in to my phone they instantly make a very loud static noise that cant be fixed by wiggling, twisting, etc. I cant hear a single peice of audio from my phone. They work perfectly fine on my xbox, except that sometimes people will tell me that my mic is making a buzzing noise but i dont think this has anything to do with the ussue. Does anyone have a solution or know a cause to this issue?

This was me^ ( just created an acc). I have found the solution to this issue. It was not the headphones or the phone. It was an app that i had opened called kodi that for some odd reason makes headphones do this.
