Android Central Question

Hey! There are tons of things I absolutely hate about Android Pie, but the most frustrating is this one: Why do recently used apps and recent contacts appear in the row above all apps menu? Is it possible to make it disappear? What's the purpose of it anyway? It's utterly useless and ugly.

Unfortunately I feel like Android Pie is a step backwards. It reminds me of non-stock Android that was completely 'unpersonalizable' and was the main reason to switch to Android One. And that one was brilliant until Pie came along.

How do one downgrade back to previous version?

In settings if you search for "app suggestions" it comes up with a result that allows you to adjust this. Pixel Launcher allows this adjustment, not sure about the one on the Android One devices (whichever one you have).

Welcome to Android Central! You can also install a 3rd party launcher like Nova, which allows you to tweak a lot of those things. I personally find Pie to be totally fine. There are so many other things in this world to be truly frustrated by, it's not worth it to take it out on your phone.:p
