since Android 8, I was annoyed by the little arrows next to the WiFi and the mobile data symbol in the status bar. One somehow could get rid of those by deactivating the WiFi and mobile data symbol via the SystemUI tuner.
After updating to Android 9 Pie, I managed to get the System UI tuner running ( https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/enable-system-ui-tuner-android-9-0-pie-remove-status-bar-icons-0186364/ ). Now I can slide the buttons to potentially activate and de-activate a lot of things there. BUT: They have now effect at all. Except the Battery status, alarm , and clock settings.
I have a Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android one / Pie.
