Android Central Question

I have the Moto G6 so it could be just Motorola phone's that don't let you add home panels but thought I'd see if it was an Oreo thing first

Try long-pressing an icon/item on the home screen and dragging it all the way to the right, let it go past any existing screens and you should see a narrow "pop-out" from the right that when the icon is dragged there should create a new screen.

Welcome to the forums. Try this, press and hold any icon on your home screen, drag it to the right until an empty screen is opened and place it there. I think the only limitation is that you can't have an empty screen with the stock launcher and you'd need a custom one like Nova.
