How do I remove finder acting as its own window?

When I swipe down on my S9 home screen finder opens up to show a search option at the top. If I swipe back up to close the finder window it goes away. I then noticed the window is still present when I press the "show all windows" button. Why doesn't the window fully close when I swipe up to close finder? It's werid how the window doesn't self destruct when I'm done using it.

I'd prefer not to swipe up and then have to press the show all windows button to manually close it. It seems like an extra step.

Can I fix this or turn off finder?

If you turn off the app, it might make your device not function.
There is nothing you can do.
Deal with it.
