Android Central Question

Why do I have to push the home button everytime I want the home screen on my S7? On my old S5, when I had multiple apps open, and wanted the home screen, all I had to do was tap outside the app, onto the wallpaper home screen and it brought it right up. But on my S7, when I tap outside an app on the wallpaper, nothing happens. To get to the home screen I have either close all apps, or physically push the button. It's an extra unneeded step but I'm not sure how to get around it.

I'm pretty sure I can't answer your question, I just had two of my own.... What app opens but doesn't take up the whole screen where you can still see the wallpaper? How is tapping the home button, which I'm assuming sits at the bottom of the screen more work than touching the wallpaper? They are each just one tap right? I'm truly not being an instigator or smart, I just don't know.
