I have an old (but loved) note 3 phone. Finally downloaded an system upgrade after deleting many pics and videos and leaving room for it. Phone was fine for a couple of days but today it wouldn't show the keyboard to allow me to sign in. I followed instructions from this website and its back on. I tried deleting the password security unsuccessfully. i don't want to be in the same position again since it took about half an hour trying to reboot. I would like to do a complete factory data reset but don't want to lose my data. I never use my the g mail so i don't know how to back up the data

It may be worth trying a Cache Partition wipe first, which causes no loss of personal data, and may fix things. See this helpful guide from Messrs T-Mobile: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-27708

It will be good for all Note 3 devices, not just T-Mobile ones.

And you won't be seeing any updates - OC2 was the last.
