Multiple Android Auto Voices

I have Android Auto set to use the Cyan voice. But sometimes (this *seems* to occur when things don't seem to be working well in general - and/or when there is bad cell service) AA responds with the *red* voice. When I hear that red voice I know immediately things aren't going to work well. If I want to send a text, for example, and AA responds with the red voice, it almost never works. It cuts off when I'm talking, etc.

So - any clue why this is happening? It doesn't happen all that frequently - but when it does it drives me mad.

If it matters - AA is running on Samsung S8 - and in a 2019 GMC Terrain SUV.
