Android Central Question

My phone turned itself off and when I tried to restart it took ages sitting on the first HTC white screen, then it started an endless loop of the following error messages:

Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
Unfortunately Sense Home has stopped
Unfortunately GMail has stopped
Unfortunately Google Pay has stopped
Unfortunately Tasks has stopped
Unfortunately Exchange services has stopped

The Sense home message comes up a lot more than the others. The com.google.process.apps comes up a lot too

I've restarted the phone in Safe mode but it hasn't made any difference. I can't get to the home screen or to apps to do anything.

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like you need a factory reset, I still have mine but it needs a battery . I convert to Google play edition

You may also need to reflash the ROM. If the phone isn't S-Off, I suggest asking your carrier if they can flash it for you (you can't flash it if it's S-On).

Also, make sure the battery is charged (old batteries can die even at 50%). Turn the phone off, leave it on the charger for 4 hours, then try to start it.

I'm not a techie, so grant me a little wiggle room if I don't use correct terminology in my reply.

I've had two episodes of what sounds like the same problem. I wish I could tell you that I know exactly how I resolved the first episode (about 6 months ago), but I just kept trying to access whatever feature, apps, settings, etc. that I could when my HTC One M8 would stay on. The warning sign (in retrospect) was the phone spontaneously shutting itself off, regardless of the status of the battery. I'm in the middle of a second episode and it had started doing the same thing a few days ago.

The main error message I have is that "process.android.phone has stopped," which pops up when I try to turn on Mobile Data from "Setting." I found a few recommendations for fixing this, none of which seems to have any lasting effect. I cannot make or receive any phone calls or text messages (this is my business phone, so, a real problem). I can receive email for some programs.

Yesterday, the phone seemed to have wiped itself of all of my own data and downloaded apps, but I just kept at it, grabbing nanoseconds between error messages to open whatever I could tap on the screen. Eventually I was able to update a number of apps, and then re-entering all usernames and pwds, which seemed to be the only way to then open them. Unfortunately, even apps that I was able to restore, eg., my outlook email, later disappeared again, requiring all of the same access information.

Mobile Data was fine yesterday, but I now cannot open it. One recommendation (which seemed to work for many readers) involved resetting APNs, but I can't find anything like that on my phone. Any suggestions on how to find this on HTC One M8?

Sorry for this lengthy rant, but I am frustrated with this problem. I have been hoping to keep this phone just a little longer. I hope someone has some recommendations.

thanks in advance.

Hello,
HTC ONE M8 has been unused for 6 months. Today I put it in charge, a red LED lights up, if pressing on POWER does not work. I should mention that before leaving he had no problem. Thank you!
