samsung email calendar event won't add to samsung calendar

Can anyone help troubleshoot why when a calendar event gets emailed to my email in Samsung Mail and is accepted the email doesn't disappear and the event doesn't get added to the Samsung calendar. This process used to work fine however most recently on my S8 and now my S10 this is not happening as it should... any help would be great.

Do you have your email sync with the calendar?
