Android Central Question

The phone I recently set up and accidentally applied the wrong account to is based on the OnePlus Six. On the phone's initial set up, I entered the wrong email address and password which is for another throw-away email address I use for websites that I suspect will inundate me with spam emails and such. Because this account is linked with my phone and not my primary email address, it is causing me a bit of a headache with stuff like syncing and more importantly the Google Authenticator. I can't find an option to swap my primary phone account, does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks,
Jon

Welcome to Android Central! I might be wrong, but I think you'd have to do a factory reset and set the phone up again.

I'm curious how this would affect Factory Reset Protection -- is there a possibility that after changing the primary Google account, the phone might still consider the first one used as the one it expects the password for in the case of FRP?

I've done this before, whatever email you use as google backup it will go by that .
So for example you used initially jognfoe@gmail.com , then deleted it and used fanboy@gmail.com that's the account it will now use for factory reset.

Now say you have 3 gmail accounts on one phone , in accounts select one of them as the back up , and you can alternate just remember which you choose as the backup.
