Android Central Question

My girlfriend and I just got Samsung S10's. I transferred my data from my old Android phone and she transferred her data from her old iPhone. There are certain things missing from her S10 that mine has and all the videos I have watched about the S10 also have.

For example, when you go to Home Screen Settings, I have 3 options at the top (Home Screen Layout, Home Screen Grid, and App screen grid). She has only the first two (App Screen grid is not there).

Also, when you scroll up from the Home Screen to get to the App screen there are 3 dots in the upper right corner. When I click on those 3 dots I get 5 menu options (Sort, Clean up Pages, Home Screen Settings, Finder Settings, and Galaxy Essentials). When she hits that very same button only two options show up (I don't recall the what the two options are, but they definitely do not include a way to sort the icons and I think the two options include none of the 5 listed on my phone).

Any idea what is going on with her phone? Why would she be missing an App Screen grid and options to sort? I did notice that she has about 5 home pages of apps and when you go to the App screen there are only 5 apps listed there total. Normally, as far as I know, 100% of all apps are listed in the App screen and some of them are just duplicated on the Home Screen for easy access. Instead, on her phone, she has only 5 apps on her App screen and all the rest of her apps are accessed by scrolling to the right from the home screen (rather than scrolling up to access the app screen).

Is this a side effect of transferring from an iPhone? Would doing that really destroy menu options? How do we get her phone working like all the S10's we see show in videos?

Check in settings>display>easy mode>see if this was turned on. This is a 'simpler mode' with less options that might have been inadvertently toggled.

Hey! Was just in the same boat and figured it out! So if you go into the Home Screen Settings and click on "Home Screen Layout" make sure that "Home and Apps Screens" option is selected, rather than just the "Home screen only" option, this will give you access to options such as "Apps Screen Grid", "Apps Button" and "Apps to home screen" and give you access to the app drawer when you swipe up on home screen, as well as those additional options when clicking those three dots in the app drawer. Hope this helps! :)
