Android Central Question

I cannot see a way to delete contacts from the messages App (unlike the phone App where I can delete contacts).

How do we clean that section up?

Two Options
1. Delete from Contacts, long press the contact and delete.
2. From messages, select message from the user you want to delete, press the 3 dots on right side of screen, select add or remove people and it then goes to search function so you have to search for the contact then hit "done"

Option 1 is far quicker

None of those is showing. For number 1, there is no delete option, only a "start" option. There are no messages to find since it's such an old contact.

Android, S10e. The text message App.

Contacts aren't in the Messages app, they're in the Contacts app. Messages can access them, but they're still in the Contacts database. Delete them from Contacts. (The Phone app has a direct link to the Contacts app, the Messages app doesn't.)

Hello. Click the three dots in the left corner of your phone contacts. Go to settings. Select other call settings. Toggle the hide contacts without numbers off. All contacts should be showing now and you can delete them from the phone contact list.
