Why is it that my Micro SD Card suddenly cant be seen by my Android phone?

[Android Central Question]

Been using it for months and all of a sudden, it says Insert an SD card. Have reboot, removed, cleaned thr SD card to no avail. Have also tried reading the card on my laptop but it isn't appearing.

It's possible it's corrupt

Welcome to Android Central! If the PC can't even detect it, then it's dead. SD cards are inherently less reliable than onboard storage, and are more prone to corruption and complete failure, so never rely on them as sole storage for important data.
