Android Central Question

I spilled some water on my Pixel 3A last night. Immediately turned it off and left it to air dry overnight. Woke up to no media audio playing - but calls when on speakerphone, alarms and ringtones all play fine Tried everything today - safe mode, factory restore, to no avail. Phone is insured so not too worried but I'd rather not pay the £50 excess. Is it a case of turning it back off and leaving it in rice for a while or do I need to bite the bullet?

And, FYI:

1. Putting a wet phone into rice has destroyed more phones than driving over them has. (If there are any impurities in the water that etch metal, or that form conductive paths, rice will absorb the water but not the impurities, so the impurities just get concentrated.)

See Oh, no! My Phone got Wet!

2. A Pixel 3a is still under warranty, so if anything happens to it, call Google customer support. You don't need insurance except for breakage or obvious user misuse until the warranty expires. (I've had them ship me 6 replacement Pixel 2s so far - I kept the first one because I hadn't figured out how to fix the problem [which I've since figured out - you really have to damage this thing physically to not be able to recover from a problem - even flashing the wrong ROM is recoverable]. I figured it out for all the others, and just returned them, and Google was fine with that.)
