Hi, just wondering how to keep an app open, for instance, I use Strava when riding my bike, but the screen closes down after about 10 minutes requiring me to unlock it again to view the app, not so easy when riding along.

Welcome to Android Central! If the developers didn't code the app to keep the screen awake as long as you're using the app, then you'd have to try something like Keep Screen Awake (which is currently on sale for free).

I think the problem is that there is no Android setting that allows the screen to stay awake indefinitely -- the highest screen timeout is usually around 20 or 30 minutes, but if the ride is longer than that, it'll still timeout.

On the off chance that Samsung's firmware is aggressively killing apps, see what happens if you turn off Battery Optimization for Strava in the system settings (but I doubt that will help).
