Android text messaging, responses come back from person responding with cell numbers.

[Android Central Question]

When I send a text to 1 person or a group, their responses come back with cell numbers to identify the person responding, not their names! I have to look up their numbers in my contacts, in order to identify who the number belongs to, in order to see who responded. How do I fix this, so I get the name of the person responding to my text, not just their cell number.

Welcome to Android Central! Are the phone numbers that you see in the messaging app exactly how you've entered them into your Contacts? If there's a difference in the presence/absence of the country code, that might be enough to make the messaging app not recognize the contact.
