[SOLVED] I have an icon that quickly flashes and disappears that I can't identity

[Android Central Question]

For the last six months or so every once in a while I noticed and icon flashing next to the time on the top left of my screen. I have a Galaxy Note 8. I never saw it before and I can't find it on any of the thousands of lists of Android icons. What do I do?

I finally managed to get a screenshot of it today but this device isn't letting me upload a picture from my phone.

How rapidly it flashes and disappears is alarming to me.

I remember a thread where that same icon was reported. If I recall correctly it's related to a sync/backup process running in the background. Nothing to worry about. I'll try to find that thread.

Thanks. DH is in cybersecurity and after I took hours last week trying to find it he tried and didn't come up with anything (he was too busy to look further) and he suggested I ask an android forum
