What happens when I reset my account?

I am stuck on the two step verification page after someone hacked my account. They set up a PIN and entered their own email address (presumably) so I can't change it. When I click on Forgot PIN, it gives me the option to Reset Account. What does that mean? Will it only reset the PIN, or reset my entire account and delete my chat history and contacts?

It should reset just your pin

It will reset your PIN and send a link to the page to set the new one to their email address. Instead, try Google Account Recovery.
