In the past, I've been able to change from "charging" mode to MIDI mode by plugging in my phone, dragging down from the top, and tapping on the charging notification. Now, ever since getting an S10+, tapping the notification brings up the Battery section of Device Care instead. I searched for MIDI in the settings and couldn't find any reference to it. Additionally, there's no reference to it in the entire Samsung user manual either.

Is it not possible to use this port for MIDI? If I'm missing something, please let me know.

Go into Developer Options and scroll down to Default usb configuration and select MIDI. This will be the default connection. If it still doesn't work it may be the phone isnt recognising the device due to a poor connection or some other issue.
