phone turns on normally and lets me draw unlock pattern but doesn't turn on

[Android Central Question]

pretty self explanatory, buttttt if more detail is needed- after some crashing my phone (galaxy s9 i believe?) managed to load up the lockscreen normally. that itself is working normally but when i draw my unlock pattern, it just stays on the screen for a few seconds before shutting off. i can't restart/power it off because even though pushing the home and power button manages to pull up those options, i need the ******* unlock pattern to make it work. and guess what happens when i do that. it just stays on screen and goes dark. for some reason i can't find a solution to this but sometimes this happens except after a few tries it works. god help me.

Might be a bug when using pattern , can try resetting settings , and clearing cache in recovery.
