Filtering for a Chromebook

I need to set up a couple of chrome books to be used for kids to do their school. What are the best options for a parent friendly and fairly tight filter. Ideally, the filter would block apps and allow a whitelist (at least one of these is going to a kid who is going to be minimally supervised.)

How old are the kids? You should be able to use Google Family Link with Chromebooks. Just keep in mind that it restricts YouTube to YouTube Kids for those under 13, which might make you very unpopular.

You obviously know more than I do about Chromebooks but here's an article you might enjoy.
