There is much that can be said about class and refinement, whether it comes to phones, cars, fancy clothes, etc… But one of life’s great challenges when it comes to these types of things is trying to accessorize. Let’s be real here… not everything goes together as well as some liver with a nice Chianti and some fava beans. So what do you do when you have an iconic and expensive phone like the Samsung Galaxy S9+? Well, you accessorize it with something equally as classy, and hella complimentary – of course I’m talking about the Mujjo Leather Wallet Case.

The Look: When you have a glass-backed, sexy, flagship level phone like the S9+, I have a hard time making an argument for putting a $5 TPU case from the budget bin on the phone. You want to put something on your phone that compliments the curved edges, and allows for optimal viewing space and access to the infinity display. In other words, you want a sleek, minimalistic style leather case like the Mujjo Full Leather Wallet Case. These two guys go together like nobody’s business, and the quality and design of each really meld together and create a gorgeous looking combination. The case is made from fine, full-grain leather that’s as smooth as you can find in the industry – it also ages beautifully, according to the website. In addition to style and class, the Full Leather Wallet Case comes in two colors, for the finest of pairing options, as well as leaving room for your own aesthetic preferences. The Mujjo case comes in Olive (my personal fave), as well as Black.

The Feel: The Full Leather Wallet Case has an excellent, soft-leather feel to it. I have learned in the past that cheap leather means a hard and rough exterior, with cheap stitching; not so with Mujjo. I have never felt such a soft and genuine feeling leather in a phone case before, and I’ve tried out several leather phone cases lately. One of the downsides of this case is that it costs a pretty penny (or euro), depending on the source of your currency before it’s converted. The Mujjo Company is based in the Netherlands, which means you’ll be converting those dollars to euros. However, with a great price comes a great responsibility to deliver a fantastic product, and I think that Mujjo hit a home run with this case. The overall feel and built-in card slot on this case works really well. The only real drawback I have with the card slot though is that it’s a little loose towards the top, but that’s more of the nature of the leather material than the design. The case is advertised as supporting up to 2-3 cards in the slot, but over time I would keep an eye on it and be careful not to slide too many cards in there at once for fear of stretching it out; otherwise I think it works well.

Security: The Mujjo Full Leather Wallet case doesn’t exactly shine when it comes to security and protecting your phone. Sure, it has some enhanced security characteristics, such as a 1mm raised area around the edges to protect your phone screen on flat surfaces, but it’s only on the corners (obviously because it leaves the curved edge display open and accessible). Another nice feature is the microfiber lining on the inside of the case that helps to keep your phone scratch-free and safe. However, the thin leather design and minimalistic form factor has its drawbacks, among which is the question-ability of how well your phone will be protected if you drop it. As part of my routine Public Service Announcement (PSA), a glass screen protector is an absolute MUST with this case… When you combine a glass screen protector with this case, it helps make up for the lack of security and gives you a bit more peace of mind when you’re toting around your phone. However, if you’re like me you’ve realized that finding a well-made, affordable glass screen protector for curved screens is difficult in and of itself. However, I highly recommend one. If not, at least have a film-style screen protector. You’ll thank me later!

Conclusion: The Mujjo Full Leather Case for the Galaxy S9/S9+ is a cut above the competition (see what I did there?) In all of my travels, I have not found anything in a fancy leather design that beats this case in the minimalistic category. There are other more bulky cases that give it a good run for its money, but the slim-fitting body style and quality of the materials of this case help set it above the competition. I’m not overly crazy about the price ($45.37 euro), but I have to say that you’re really not going to find anything of this caliber or design in the budget case category. This is a gem of a case and it’s worth every last penny that it cost to snap one on your phone. So the real question is, do you want a fancy leather case that compliments your gorgeous Samsung phone? If so, I highly recommend it. If not, then definitely look elsewhere.

Pros:
- Beautiful vegetable tanned, full-grain leather
- Looks great and compliments the phone’s sleek form factor
- The case colors are bold and work well with the S9/S9+ colors
- The fancy card slot works well and gives you the option to go wallet-less

Cons:
- It’s expensive
- It’s not very protective (but it’s not designed to be)
- I have question marks about the longevity of the thin leather card slot
- It’s leather, so scuffs and potential drop marks will stand out
- Shipping to the U.S. is slow and expensive

If you’re interested in picking up one of these remarkable cases, head over to Mujjo’s website where you can pick one up for 45.37 euro ($52.93 dollars) - https://www.mujjo.com/cases/full-leather-wallet-case-for-galaxy-s9-olive - there are two different shipping options: Standard (USPS 7-14 days), and Expedited (FedEx in 3-5 days). Standard shipping is about $6.65, and Expedited is about $12.44… yeah, it’s pricey and slow. But… some things in life are worth the wait! If you have any questions or you’re interested in picking one up, please feel free to sound off down in the comments section.
