New venue 8 - auto rotate stuck

First off, I LOVE THIS TABLET. just bought today but the screen auto rotation seems stuck in portrait despite the display setting on "auto rotate". Have I missed a setting or is this a lemon? I am running 5.0.2.

Thanks. That setting is enabled, as is the auto rotate in Accessibility menu. Still won't rotate.

Have you tried to recalibrate tho gyroscope sensor?

Yes, just did that and rebooted for good measure. Still won't rotate, stuck in portrait for some reason. Is this an issue with 5.0.2? I guess that's my bigger question. Who here is running 5.0.2 and has auto rotate working?

I'm running 5.0.2 with no auto rotate problems.

Good to know, are you running stock or a different launcher? I might have a bad unit. I just did a hard reset and it still won't rotate ugh.

Update. It was a bad unit. This new one works perfectly on 5.0.2. Now I can rest. Have I said how awesome this tablet is. Hidden gem.

I have heard that this has been a chronic problem. I have been experiencing intermittent auto rotation problems also.

Agreed. This is the problem I've been having since updating. Mostly a 5 second delay between rotating.
