I've had my Maxx since it was released over 18 months ago. I use it a lot and charge daily and usually always have to give it a boost as it will get kind of low. So, IMHO this phone works great and I consider it to still be state of the art tech. I see no reason to get a new phone when the battery takes a final dump. What with Verizon's take on UL data users I'd certainly prefer to keep it as long as possible and not have to pay full retail again.
This being said I'm wondering how much hassle it would be to order a battery and change it out myself. I can see the day coming when it will need to be done. So, I'm wondering how many others have done this and did you have any problems? I've seen the you tube vids on swapping out the razr to a Maxx battery and while it looks tricky it doesn't look un-doable. I'd love to hear comments from anyone who's done it or are there any local shops that would do it? Best Buy is probably my only option for a shop, I live in a smallish town. Don't even know if they do it. I'm not very good with small fittings, small tools etc. my eyes are old and I'd probably need a magnifying glass. I'd prefer not to send it in to Motorola as I would need it back in service ASAP. Besides its rooted, cleaned up , streamlined and totally customized to my liking so moto needs to keep their greasy paws off.
TIA
