Call volume

Anyone having issues with low call volume on essential? I could barely hear the other person on some calls. Is this a known issue?

Silly question but have you tried pressing the volume up key during a call?

Mine goes louder than I can stand whether using the earpiece, bottom speaker or a wired headset.

I have never had an issue with either of the two I have had. The earpiece volume was very loud on them.

In my observation, and I agree with you… You have to hold this thing down further on your ear than other phones. In looking at the iPhone in my hand… The speaker is about 1 cm down from the top of the phone. In looking at the essential, the earpiece is right on the top ridge.

I thought I had a defect, until I realized that the phone speaker is extremely sensitive to positioning. It must have some sort of directional amplification to deal with it's tiny size. If you move your head around and get used to the best position, you'll find it's quite loud.

... unless of course yours is defective!
