Hey,
Ok so i have been searching over and over for the past few days on how to play this video on my Samsung galaxy ace phone... This has been driving me nuts.
I was streaming my favourite tv show online when this appears out of nowhere. "Sorry this video cannot be played" (Thats really weird considering the fact i was just watching it.)
I looked up online ways to fix this, Clearing history, cache, location all that stuff didnt work, neither did a reboot, My internet speed doesnt affect it as ive been in 3 different locations ever since this happened (and also used 3g). I considered "3" the network had decided i no longer get to play videos as i watch too much, but that wasnt it either as i can still browse the internet and watch other videos and watch youtube videos etc.... Ive come to the conclusion that i need to get a different video player to try and fix this, so i got MX player and a Codec .. like it was something like "ARV6"
i cant remember but it said it was for the ace so i got it... But i cant find how to change the default video player (as i said ive been searching for a few days and none of the things have worked... like clearing defaults in "Gallery" and "Internet and other stuff) But another thing.... I mean... does MX player even stream online videos? I Have absolutely no idea what im doing... I need help :/

Do you have any idea what app you were using originally to stream that show? Was it the stock browser? If you knew which app it was, you could go to Settings/All Apps, select that app, and clear its defaults. Otherwise, you could skim through every app in Settings/All Apps, choose any that might remotely play a video, and see if you can clear its defaults.

It may be that MX Player won't allow you to play that video anyway, in which case Android wouldn't even give you the option to select which app to use.

Odp: How do i change the default video player?

If you are not asked for application and reseting defaults does not work, it means that mx does not support stream or it missing right intent responce. Try VLC there software (at least on pc) do good job with streams

Re: Odp: How do i change the default video player?

Ok.. so today I tried using VLC however using it on my phone was rather complicated...but that doesnt matter now as i have realised what you were talking about above is true, MX wont stream that video as it doesnt give me the option whereas it does with some others.. However i was trying to work the video today and found out it decided to work with 3g (but 3g signal is bad) so i tried it with my internet, it didnt work... The video seems to work with 3g sometimes. Why does it not work with my internet? I considered Sky (my provider) had decided id watched enough and lowered the amount oof streaming i could do but this didnt go because i can still stream the video on my laptop.... Any suggestions?

Some extra info...

Internet provider : Sky
Phone type : Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5839i
Network : Three "3"
Video App : None (Im using default)
MX, Rockplayer and Vlc Didnt seem to work (Dont know how that matters because as far as im aware that is not the problem anymore)

For watching a video today, I accidentally pressed on the "Always" button, in response to two player options given by my phone (MX player and default video player), for the default video player. I followed your instructions of going to Settings-Apps-All-View video-Clear defaults (since the app I wanted not to be the default happened to be the default player "View video" on my HTC phone, it was categorized under Internal Storage).
Thank you so much for the help, I hope the tips be useful for other users too. :)

I also accidentally hit the "Always" button and the videos played in a tiny screen on Player Pro. After reading above post, I went to the "Apps" and behold there was a "Clear Defaults" option.
Thanks.
