Had to Wipe Device: Question

I had to wipe my device and i'm re-downloading stuff from google play store. When I DL stuff it would automatically create a shortcut of he app on my desktop. I no longer have this option. Does something need to be turned on?

Open Google Play, tap the menu button, select Settings, then make sure "Auto-add widgets" is checked. It's a bit of a misnomer--"widgets" should be "shortcuts."
