Hey guys! I'm a recent convert to Android from my iPhone 5 and have been really loving Android ability to customize the look of my phone as much as I want.

however, I can't seem to get something to look how I wanted to and was hoping one of you smart people might know the solution, because try as I may, google can't seem to find the answer.

The issue is that the google search bar, when I have the minimal UI up on Apex doesn't just barely kiss the sides of the homescreen (like it does when I'm on the stock launcher or in a picture from the minimal UI page in the play store),

but instead hovers for away from the corners, taking up a lot of needed space.

It's obviously possible to have the quick search bar thinner and less exposed, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Do any of you have any suggestions? I'm on the latest version of android on an HTC One I purchased from the play store.

Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing your responses :)

Welcome to the forums!
I think the margin is there so that you can still flip the page near that spot and not accidentally activate the Search Widget. The margin is even there in Nova. I changed it to None and still had a slight gap.
Otherwise, how are you liking Android so far?
