I have an S6 and would like to use Samsung's default Messages app. However, I do not like the "screen on" feature when a text message is received. I only want vibration and LED notification. I have heard you can disable the screen on setting if you are rooted, but I have not been able to find out what you need to do (I am rooted). Any help is really appreciated!

I would imagine that is with a specific ROM. You can do that with HeadsOff application, without rooting.

I don't want to turn off Lollipop pop-ups though. I meant that I want to prevent my screen from turning on with a text message when the screen is locked. Does that app do that too? I didn't see that in the description.

Oh.. I don't think mine turns on but I have no lock screen notifications.

With the pro key of the app, you can allow more than just the phone calls to do a pop up. I would download the free version, test it with a text and see if it works. If so, then you can do the pro key and allow heads up notifications for whatever you want. All my notifications show up in the status bar, like they did with KitKat and before.
