Any way to reset sim pin-code without puk-code?

I've got a problem with an old phone. Last time I used it was over 3 years ago and back then I had a sim card from another service provider. After that time I have changed service provider twice.

I dont remember the name of the service provider I had back then, I tried a pin-code from the service provider I changed to after last I used this phone, and now it tells me it needs Puk-code. But that is impossible to get.

Is there any way to remove or reset sim pin-code on the phone when you dont have the pin-code or the puk-code and its not possible to get it?

Could get into the phone by using airplane mode, so was able to see that the phone has Android version 2.3.5

Did you ever get an answer to your problem. I have a similar problem with my phone. I don't have the original SIM that caused the PUK code error.
