My YOGA TAB3 Plus is on a wifi network that includes a smart tv and a Western Digital MyCloud. I also can attach a USB stick to a port on the tablet.
I can use the tablet to select photos from MyCloud and cast them on the TV. But how can I then copy it to the USB? Is there an file explorer-like app for the tablet that will allow me to do this? Or is there a better suggestion please?
TIA ... Greg

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum, since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

There are a lot of file manager apps available on the Play Store -- I like Total Commander, since it's free and ad-free, with good developer support.

Thankyou. I tried Total Commander without much success. Does it rely on the MyCloud disk being hardwired to the tablet? Because I can't see the cloud disk in the app when the cloud disk is connected as a NAS to the wifi router.

I saw there is an add-in for wifi but that enables another android device to send a file to the tablet. I think that wouldn't be possible when that other device is my Cloud. Or is it?

Even if it worked, it seems to me Total Commander would not be integrated with the tablet app that I'm using to view images on the myCloud. Is that right? Because if I used a windows laptop instead of the android tablet it would be easy to open an image on the cloud and transfer it to a USB stick attached to the laptop. Perhaps tablets are not designed for this level of integration?

I appreciate your comments ...

What app are you using to view the images?

thank you for your reply, it is Western Digital's MyCloud ...

That first one doesn't link properly -- this is the one I linked previously: LAN plugin for Total Commander I don't think it necessarily has to be a Windows based network. It's for any LAN, but I'm not sure if it will achieve what you're trying to do. Could you describe in a little more detail how your network is set up?

There haven't been "Windows-based networks" since about 1993, Now networks are TCP/IP-based, even if there are Windows computers on them.

The KAN plugin for Total Commander that you posted the broken link to (which is the one B. Diddy posted a working link to) is for Samba, a protocol that allows the client to become a domain member of a Windows domain - something you probably don't need just to transfer files with TC, but it should work. (I haven't used a WD cloud drive in a long time, but as I recall it could be seen by Windows domain members. (MyCloud doesn't need Active Directory, which is mainly what Samba is concerned with, but TC should see it as a drive on the LAN.)

I understand the WD MyCloud network storage runs some kind of system based on Linux. It is plugged via an Ethernet cable to my router which I think is commonplace combined wifi router and ADSL modem. The YOGA TAB3 Plus tablet runs android operating system. The smart tv is attached to the router by an Ethernet cable as well.
