Is there a way to save locations in google maps.. Basically I am trying to put in several addresses and have them there ready for when i need to go to them.
I checked some videos on line but i am guessing they are using older versions of maps. I am running android 8 on a a Huawei Mate 10 pro.
I did find a way to store locations.. But i cannot find a way to use these to navigate to them.

I want to add several locations/destinations to google maps and have them saved for later use. Can someone point in in the right direction.
Basically i want to have location services turn on. and just go get directions.. and pull up a list places for destinations. Just like how a normal GPS works.

I think you can save only one location offline. But your searches will be stored as cache so you don't need to type again.

Welcome to Android Central! Enter any address in Google Maps, then tap the address name at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a detail screen come up, with a Save and Label button. If you tap Save, you can make it a Favorite or Starred Place. If you tap Label, you can give it a name (like "Parents' house"). Now go back to the main Google Maps screen and tap Menu (or swipe in from the left), then tap Your Places. You'll see the address you just entered either under the Labeled or Saved column. Tap it, and then tap Directions, and you can navigate to the destination easily.

Yes thanks for merging. That was my mistake I didnt realise i had logged out of the forum when i put the first one in. Hence it wasnt showing when i was logged in as one of my submitted questions. So I re added it.
Thanks all for the help. I have worked it out now and have to say now i know what to do it is fantastic. And if I fill out addresses under contacts.. the can use that to open maps directly and very simple. In the past i have whinged complained.. sooked over shortfalls of android compared to basic feature of windows phone.. but this is fantastic once working it all out. Now if only i can have texts read to me like windows phone does.. Id be completely satisfied.

That's one reason I've been using MyDirections for years. It's like a Contacts app for locations. The locations are arranged alphabetically. choose one, Navigate to it, and Maps is opened with the lat/lon to navigate to. Makes Maps a useful app again (the way it used to be before they "improved" it by removing the list of locations). It doesn't back and restore yet, but the new version is supposed to be out "soon".

Try saying, "Ok Google, show my messages." It should ask you if you want to hear them, and it should also prompt you if you want to dictate a reply.

I have tried this before but honestly not up to where the microsoft hands free is.
    That aside
How do i get it to read out directions via bluetooth. I have it all turned on. well i think i do. and bluetooth is working in car as i can stream music and make calls via it.. but maps arent read out.

Update... I can get it to work via bluetooth providing i have the car in bluetooth streaming mode. Which means i cant listen to the radio or usb device and have it just kick in when it needs too. I dont have this issue when a phone call comes through though. I can be in any audio mode and it just flicks to "phone mode" automatically when call comes in. when call is hung up it reverts back

In that kind of situation, it's probably best to set it so that it doesn't give nav instructions over Bluetooth. If you turn that off, it will come over the phone's speaker. Not ideal, but at least you can hear it.
