Google backup stops working if I enable lockscreen

Hello, I'm having this problem - Yesterday I did factory reset of my android phone (Redmi S2) which has Android Pie. After that I noticed Google backup is grayed out and has status - "waiting to backup". It actually is stuck in such condition and won't back up. After some googling, I found out that if I disable lockscreen security (pin and fingerprint), then it starts working, but as soon as I enable pin and fingerprint google backup stops working. I did everything - another factory reset, removed google account and added again, cleared caches, almost everything I could do, but nothing helps. After more googling, I came to conclusion that it must be Android's Pie issue. Seems like it uses encryption method when making backups that is directly connected to lockscreen password. Here's that article: https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...BzXDbO03cFNJBl4Db0GAzXwMlA4R6NUbfIfDQEEXjUXzY

I found few people experiencing same problem. Now question is how to fix this problem or only thing we have now to wait for Google when they will fix it? Also, is there any direct way to give Google my voice about this bug, problem or whatever it is?
Thought that my phone isn't making automatic backups anymore is really troubling me. Can't wait when it gets fixed.

Any power-saving modes turned on? Is Restrict Background Data turned on?

No, it does even after fresh factory reset. On Google community they told me to reach out my phone manufacturer about this issue, since security settings on Android are handled differently by each phone manufacturer as they said. Already reported on Mi community. They thanked me and told me to kindly wait for MIUI updates. Seems like I just need to wait.
