Interesting article about Google tracking our location. What annoys me most is that it says it uses wifi to track you even if you have it turned off. It runs in the background. Thats annoying as I turn it off to save battery.

Whats more annoying is that they overlooked the part where it's off by default, and has a big warning that tells you exactly what it's going to do right beside the box that you have to check to turn it on.

And they even show a picture of it.

Obviously being Stateside you're not familiar with the paper: anything for a headline and ignore the facts.

Also, it doesn't use WiFi to track you, the update allows you to use WiFi location features (which are considerably more precise than GPS ) without turning on the battery sucking WiFi radio.

Facts are so boring, though
