Anyone know what's wrong with my iNew v8?

I just received my iNew v8 smartphone (a Chinese brand that runs on Android) and after unwrapping it and pressing the power button it wouldn't turn on, I opened the back and took out the battery, put it back in and it still didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Btw sorry if this is in the wrong section I have no idea where to put it

I'm hoping it's not and I need to do something to make it work which is why I'm here, I've already considered that possibility.

If it doesn't turn on, there's not much anyone here is going to be able to do for you. When you say you pressed the power button, did you hold it down? Most devices require you to hold the button for a few seconds to prevent accidental use.

Oh yeah, plug it in. If none of that works, either the device or the battery is defective and you should return it.

Tried everything, guess it's probably broken and I'll have to return it, only thing is that it's shipped from China ;-;

hi, most chinesse phones have a plastic cover in the battery just in the three pins that make contact, i hope this helps

Thank you so much! After looking I found the tiniest plastic cover over the battery.
It works now.
