Have you found a way to crop the images? I played with this earlier and it forces my 4;3 photos into 1:1 cutting the right edge off the image.

I noticed that as well. Not sure there's a way. You might have to create a copy of the image you want to use, then crop that, then use it with the app.

To keep the whole of a rectangular picture, I used the Snapseed Expand tool to turn it into a square by extending the sides, then used that. If saved, cropping of the sides can then be done.
