Networking issue with Chromecast and Mobile devices

HelloEveryone,

I have a small issue. I can't seem to get my Nexus 5 to connect to my CC when I am downstairs and the CC is upstairs. When I am downstairs I'm connected to the main router and the CC is upstairs connected to the Access Point.

The access point is networked properly as I can do everything from my laptop downstairs with no issue. If the laptop is connected to the main router (downstairs) I can share my chrome tabs with the CC upstairs. I can also view shared files of people connected to the AP (besides the point)

It seems that I cannot connect my N5 or S5 to the CC from downstairs. Mobile devices don't seem to want to view anything connected to the AP. When I try to ping the AP with my N5 I get "Destination Host unreachable" and when pining anything connected to the AP I get nothing.

Any idea on what setting is missing on the routers to allow mobile devices to see the network properly?

Edit: It seems that even being downstairs, I can't ping a computer that's hardwired to the router. But my laptop downstairs can...
Basically, from my phone I can ping anything wireless connected to the router downstairs. Even the wired desktop can't ping my phone but wireless laptop can.

Sorry but I am having a really hard time following what you are saying.

My first suggestion would be to simply check and make sure you don't have WiFi Isolation turned on anywhere, and make sure the IP's of all of the devices are on the same subnet.
