    Hi all,

How do I configure Voice Search on my Nexus 5 to work with my data plan only?

The wifi in my life works for everything but Google Now (college kid; apartment sucks and on campus still sucks) and its voice search. I want to keep my phone set on the wifi-first option while having Voice Search restricted to data-first so that I can consistently use voice commands.

The voice commands was one of the main reasons I purchased the Nexus 5 over other phones. Help please, gracias.

I don't think you can do this, at least not as is. Some rooting mod might be able to do this, but I haven't yet heard of one that lets you differentiate the type of data connection based on the app requesting data.

Google Now generally works on pretty low bandwidth though. If your wifi works for other things, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for voice search.
