Good morning! My parents just got the Nexus 7 for Christmas along with the Kindle Fire. When they went to Best Buy, the Netgear 600 Wireless was recommended to them, which they bought and installed. The two PCs and the Kindle Fire are showing up on the Netgear Genie but not the Nexus 7. Is there something extra they need to get access for the Nexus 7? Thank you!:)

Do you have the model number? Is it the WNDR3400?

Either way, try a hard reset on it.

To clear all data and restore the factory default values:

Power off and power it back on.
Use something with a small point, such as a pen, to press the Reset button in and hold it in for at least 5 seconds.
Continue holding the Reset Button until the LEDs blink twice.
Release the Reset Button.

But for less money I would have gone with the more common and better known Cisco - Linksys E2000. It's a actual Gigabit router (1000bps as apposed to 100) and is only $55 bucks at walmart.

In the Wi-Fi settings on the nexus did you tap the plus sign at the top and enter the router info?

According to my husband the box that comes up with the router SSID and security setting will automatically be filled in, you click save and it will have you enter the router password.

We have Netgear and once set up it's been fine.

I have Netgear N600 (DGND3700) Dual Band modem/router and I don't have any problems to keep N7 connected to my Wifi. Actually I didn't
even made any adjustments(of course pw's etc), it just worked straight away.
