My theory is that 5.0 rolled out to a bunch of 2012 N7's, then bug reports flowed in, and they halted the rollout. They worked quickly to fix those bugs, and then released 5.0.1, which will probably start rolling out soon to the 2012 N7. If you're one of the people who missed 5.0, you'll probably just have to wait for 5.0.1 to come. This was how it happened on my 2013 N7. I don't think this happened on the N5, because there didn't seem to be as many bug reports for that device.

Yep, that's correct. Presumably, 5.0.1 was too problematic for the 2012 N7.

B.Diddy is correct, Google have halted the rollout due to the fact people were having issues such as keyboard being stuck, abnormal heat, bad battery life and slow charging, there looking to get it out by New Year I hear.

5.0.2 is flying on my N7, obviously too early to call it a success, but its a lot smoother and much quicker and I haven't encountered any bugs.

Also seems much improved on my N7. Still loading personal files and some app data, but it claimed 62 apps to download from the play store after setup - all installed and every one that I've run so far seems pretty happy.
