Power Button not responding

So this problem started a couple days ago. Basically I have to hold down the power button for like 10 seconds to even turn the thing off. When the screen goes off from being idle I can't turn it back on. Pushing the power button literally does nothing unless I hold it down. Otherwise the tablet works fine. I'm not really sure what's causing this. But it seems weird it will respond if I hold it down but not if I just tap it.

Welcome to Android Central! Your prolonged Power button press sounds like it's acting like a forced power off. On any Android device, if things are frozen, pressing and holding Power for about 10 seconds will force a power off.
