That's a rather common occurrence, although generally it seems to happen for lots of people at the same time (I'm not seeing the problem ATM). Seems to be a server-side thing. You can wait it out or try a reboot.
Settings. Apps. Google. Three dots top right. Uninstall updates. Restart phone. Play store. Search for Google. Update Google.
Seems to have happened to quite a few people with the 1/11 update. The above fixed it for me.

IIRC the temp and Froggy have been on again/off again things for quite some time with the Pixel phones. Right now it is 29 degrees and Froggy is no where to be found, big sissy. I think Miss Froggy needs at least 30 degrees to make an appearance, and never shows when it snows.
The frog disappearing is normal. Probably because Google is afraid of the ASPCA.

Seems my fix isn't sticking for me. I've had to do it about 5 times in the past 24 hours haha. I think something is going on at Google on the server side.
It was the beta causing my issue. I removed the beta by going into the play store, finding the google app, then scrolling down and removing myself from the beta. After this the temp has stuck.
Yes...I didn't respond to your earlier post because I wanted to be sure coming off the beta held up.
