How to close all open apps

Got my 4 XL today and one question so far. I'm using Nova Launcher and 3 button navigation as I dislike gestures. Anyway, if I click on the right button, the open apps appear, but if I swipe right, there is no clear all notification and I have to clear each app one at a time. If I switch to Google launcher, the clear all wording is there. Do I need to use another launcher? With my Pixel 3, the clear all wording is there even with Nova Launcher and 2 button navigation. Any ideas?

If you scroll all the way to the end of recent apps it will say clear all , Nova won't change this its way Google wants it

I'm familiar with the way it should work. I just tried it again. If you swipe the open apps all the way to the right, the words "clear all" are not present. I have an AT&T branded device, perhaps they did something. I can live with it, but very annoying.

Is it the same way on stock launcher ?

Hi Mustang,

No, on the stock launcher, the words are there and you can close all the apps at once. I'm thinking it's an issue with Nova Launcher, but on my Pixel 3, it's fine. I might try yet another launcher like Action and see what happens.

I tried Action Launcher and same thing. No clear all words and open apps have to be closed one at a time. Only the Pixel launcher shows the words "clear all".

Ok try in Nova settings to restart Nova launcher

I just tested Nova on my 3 XL as well -- I see what htcrazy is saying, there is no Clear All option. You can only swipe away individual apps. This is for 3 button nav only -- the Clear All does appear with 2 button nav. Not sure why that would be. It's probably a bug, so I'd suggest sending feedback to TeslaCoil about it, and possibly Google.

I agree Mustang. It works as it should on my Pixel 3. Both are running A10 and both have the Nov. security patch. The only thing I set up different on the P4 XL was to force the 90Hz refresh rate. If no one else is having this issue it must be something peculiar to my phone.

Thanks B. Diddy. Unless I missed something, there is no option for 2 button navigation on the 4XL, only 3 button. That explains why it works on the Pixel 3 with 2 buttons. It must be a bug as you stated.

Have you already tried restarting Nova as Mustang said? Screenshot_20191108-233943.jpeg

Yes and that made no difference.
I searched a bit and found similar reports on Pixel and Essential phones running Android 10. Unfortunately no fix so far. It seems to not affect other brands like OnePlus running 10.

I'll let you know if I find a possible solution.

IIRC Google got rid of the clear all -- I just made it a habbit to swipe super fast and it would wipe them out.

Edit: never mind I see what you see saying. It's only when using 3 button navigation on 3rd party launcher.
