What happened to 2 button navigation?

I just got my Pixel 4 XL and I really am not thrilled that did away with the 2 button navigation. Is there any way to get it back?

It disappeared. Google removed the two button navigation in the Pixel 4 and other brands did the same after the Android 10 update.

Settings, System, Gestures, Navigation. You have two other options.

I'm still using Home, back and when I rotate the phone, rotate, buttons on a P2 running 10. (I like that immediate ability to rotate the screen or not.)

Are you sure that you are talking about the two-button navigation and not the three-button?

No. There is no longer a 2-button navigation option. Below is what is see at the settings location you're referring to.
