Just picked up my Pixel 6 from Verizon late this afternoon, and have been messing with settings all this evening. I've been trying to find the Secure Location setting so that I don't have to unlock my phone constantly at home. (Granted, it did quit working on my P2 a couple of years ago.) Do the new P6's even have that setting anymore? Like the P2, my P6 can't detect my fingerprints, so I'm constantly entering my PIN.

It's called Smart Lock. Go to Settings>Security>Advanced Settings>Smart Lock, then Trusted Places. Tap your Home location listed there, and it should activate.

Got it! Thanks! What a relief not to have to punch in my PIN all the time ... now I must connect all my Bluetooth devices, the only thing I hate about getting a new phone. But, since I only seem to do that every 4 years, I guess it's not too bad. Glad that you guys are around to remind us how to do all this stuff!

No problem! Keep in mind, though, that Smart Lock has historically been somewhat wonky. In previous phones, it would work about half the time, maybe even less. It seems to have improved significantly on my 6 Pro (or it might be Android 12 that improved it) -- however, there does seem to be an issue where you still have to unlock the phone using your PIN/password/pattern at least once every 1-2 days (fingerprint doesn't work). In these situations, the lockscreen says "Phone was manually locked." It's normal for a phone to periodically ask for the PIN/password/pattern for increased security, but in the past, that interval was more like every few days, not every day. Maybe they changed it with Android 12, but it seems more like a bug.

EDIT: @cookingfool, sorry, this post was originally in response to NMCynthia's, but it also applies to your question. One other thing I can suggest is to make sure your Location is set to the highest accuracy as possible, since lower accuracy might make your phone is a few hundred meters outside of your house, which means Smart Lock wouldn't work correctly.
