What's the way to go with a USB A charger?

Currently, I use the stock A-C cable that came with the Pixel, paired with a charging brick from the Samsung Galaxy S5 (however, this is to my knowledge a QuickCharge 2.0 brick and not a stock one -- either way, it is of the higher speed).

Here's the question: what type of charging brick should I use with a USB A-C cable?

I've just bought a pair of Anker Powerline C to A cables, and while I'm presently content with charging off of my laptop, I'd like to get a brick that is compatible with these cables, and gives me the maximum charging speed while keeping my phone safe.

Info on this is a little muddy since the Pixel uses USB PD but not QC3.0, meaning that technically all fast chargers should be of C-C cables. Hence why I'm double checking here.

Thanks in advance for any help

Yes, any fast chargers should be C-C. Are you looking for a small brick that plugs directly into a wall or do you want one that has a cord to the wall and then sits on a table?

I have this Anker (actually 2 of them) and it does a fine job of fast charging my Nexus 6p when using the C-C cable. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Type-C...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6119898

There's also this one that has USB-PD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D8C6UL...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6119898

I would avoid anything that reports "charging rapidly" but has a USB-A plug in the mix.

A QC 3.0 charger is backward compatible with a phone that uses QC 2.0 charging. As for the cables, use one that fits the charger on one end and the phone on the other end. The cable is just wires, it has nothing to do with how charging works.

As for what type of charger you should buy, I currently don't have any phones that use QC 3.0, but the charger I bought is a 3.0 charger. That's no problem. If I upgrade to a phone with QC 3.0 charging, the charger will still work in it. Right now, it will "downshift" to fit the phone's requirements. (The phone has to tell the charger to give it higher voltage.)
